How to stop MTN useless messages

Freedom without privacy is rubbish. Why will Nigerian mobile networks be in the habit of sending unlimited spam messages without due consent or permission from subscribers? MTN is the king and number #1 in this dubious act. Imagine you are expecting a more important SMS message or credit alert from your bank account and you later find out the anticipated to be an annoying message from your network asking you to subscribe for an unwanted or related product/service. Though some of this annoying message might not be emanated from MTN itself, but the platform used of course is still routed from MTN server that got delivered to your phone. Most of these type of spam/promo messages are from short code numbers like “33156”, “4100”, “10425” etc. This is a real bad marketing for me because as a subscriber we are been tagged the king, then we should at least have the idea of such service/promo before been bombarded with such messages.

PROCEDURE:

Follow the below instructions to stop MTN spam messages navigate to your text message menu from your phone Type “STOP” without the quote and send to 33111 Immediately you will get deactivated for any future MTN promo and spam messages. You won’t be charge for the SMS.
